At Sunday services, elected lay readers read a weekly Bible Lesson with selections from the two books which are our Pastor: the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Wherever you are in the world, you’ll hear the same Bible Lesson for that week read at the local Christian Science church, society or group.

Sunday School is available for young people up to the age of 20. Students learn about God, God’s love for them, and how to make the spiritual and moral teachings of the Bible and Science and Health practical in every situation, healing whatever it is that needs to be healed. Care for the very young can also be provided.

Wednesday testimony meetings are a midweek pause for prayer and sharing. There are readings from the Bible and Science and Health customised to the needs of the day or occasion, singing of hymns, and time for people to share their own insights, experiences and healings that have come from their study and practice of Christian Science.

While Christian Science church services are traditionally held in-person, three churches in New Zealand also offer services online via Zoom or other teleconference platforms. Contact those churches – Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch – directly if you’d like to join one of their services remotely.

You can also listen to a replay of each week’s Sunday service held at The Mother Church, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

In addition to church services, there are Christian Science Reading Rooms throughout New Zealand. Offering a peaceful, inviting space to explore spiritual answers to life’s many questions, each Reading Room is a place of enquiry, a bookstore, a library and for prayer and study, where everyone is welcome. The librarian on duty will be happy to help in any way they can.
